Mirage User Guide
What is Mirage?
Mirage is a multi-purpose network/security tool written for Windows 2000/XP. Mirage consists of a NetBIOS scanner, CGI scanner, port scanner, SNMP tool, and an httpd querying tool.
When was this project started?
The idea was formed in 2001. It is a spin-off of an early NetBIOS scanner that Gary and Jeremiah had developed.
What was Mirage written in?
Mirage was written entirely from scratch using Visual Basic 6. Nearly all of the protocols were written by hand, after studying each protocol's RFC extensively.
Why can't I scan remote systems with NB Dig or SNMProbe?
We've noticed some ISP's have blocked NetBIOS and SNMP ports.
